Mark Buckley has been immersed in the fitness industry since 1994 and has had many high profile athletes come to him either through referral or by reputation, with injuries that they could simply not get fixed.
After working with these athletes and researching and studying the areas that he is passionate about; rehabilitation and strength & power training, he came to the realisation that there was a gap in the market that was not being fulfilled.
He witnessed how many trainers working in the field of strength and conditioning had a methodology of training that was back to front - exposing their athletes to advanced training methods and loading techniques before being qualified and cleared for such approaches - resulting in both injury and reduced performance outcomes.
Mark created the FMA Education Program to fill this gap and teach trainers to train their athletes with a holistic approach. Developing training models and concepts to help understand his methods and principles with ease, Mark shows the student a process that will take an athlete that either has ongoing concerns, has stagnated, or is looking to achieve optimal performance, take them back to basics and then work in a strategic and systematic way to train them to peak performance.
With the strength & power course originally designed as a four-part course, Mark soon realised that the first part needed to be made available to more than just the strength & power enthusiast. For this reason he changed the format and moved the first part into its own course, 'Functional Movement Analysis'.
This left three parts for the Strength & Power course, now broken down into three levels, with Functional Movement Analysis being a pre-requisite for this 3-level course.
Mark's unique and systematic process will have even the best of the Strength & Power trainers taking a step back and re-evaluating what they know.
